CampFire Dining

Private & Special Dining

More Than Just Meals
it’s not about spectacle—it’s about context

WHAT DEFINES OUR APPROACH TO FOOD
- Unhurried Timing: Meals follow safari rhythm, not timetables
- Contemporary Safari Fare: Modern interpretations of classic dishes
- African Influences: Subtle incorporation of local flavors and techniques
- Seasonal Menus: Ingredients shift with availability and freshness
- Locally Sourced: Support for regional suppliers where possible
- Dietary Flexibility: All requirements accommodated (vegetarian, vegan, allergies, cultural)
- Comfort & Elegance: Nourishing food that satisfies after days outdoors
The Main Dining & Lounge Area
Our central gathering space opens directly to the plains and firelight. Tables can be arranged for communal dining or intimate settings, depending on the mood and guest preferences. Breakfast and lunch are often served here, with the Musabi Plains stretching out before you.
Flexible Outdoor Locations
Dining spaces at Belabela are deliberately fluid. We choose locations within camp based on weather, wind direction, and view. Sometimes it’s beneath a particular tree. Sometimes at the edge of the hills for sunset. The setting adapts to enhance the moment.
Bush Dining Experiences
Used sparingly and respectfully, bush meals are set in carefully chosen wilderness locations. Whether a post-drive breakfast or a candlelit dinner beneath the stars, these moments are shaped by setting and simplicity—never staged, always allowed to unfold naturally.

As the sun lowers over the Musabi Plains, evenings begin with a simple ritual.
- Location: Musabi Plains viewpoints, chosen daily for optimal sunset position
- Timing: As the golden hour begins (around 6:00-6:30pm)
- Drinks: Gin & tonics, wine, beer, spirits, cocktails, non-alcoholic options
- Snacks: Light appetizers or bush nibbles
- Duration: 20-45 minutes (until sunset transitions to dusk)
- Atmosphere: Unhurried, unpretentious, views expansive

These moments are never staged. They’re allowed to unfold based on weather, wildlife activity, and what feels right in the moment. We don’t do bush dining just to check a box—we do it when it genuinely enhances your experience.

As night settles over the Serengeti, meals often give way to firelight.
